Senior IT support. No trainees.

Your MSP sent a rookie. Again.

Deft Minds is Tier 3 engineers only. No script-readers. No ticket purgatory. Just people who fix it the first time — because they've fixed it a hundred times before.

No sales call. No 40-page contract. A senior engineer replies within one business day.

Average engineer tenure at Deft Minds: 12+ years.

The part nobody says out loud

Traditional IT support gets paid when you suffer.

Here's the model. An MSP signs you at a flat monthly rate, then staffs your account with the cheapest engineers they can find. Fresh grads. Bootcamp hires. Your network is their classroom, and you're paying the tuition.

When something breaks, you call. Tier 1 reads a script. Tier 2 escalates. Three days later, someone senior finally looks at it — and bills the overage.

Slow resolutions aren't a bug in that business model. They're the margin.

We think that's a scam with an SLA stapled to it.

For teams that already have a good IT person

Your systems engineer is drowning. Don't buy another salary. Put a senior bench on retainer.

You already have someone great. One person holding up the entire stack — patching, tickets, and a project backlog that's been growing for two years.

You don't need a second $120k hire, plus benefits, plus a laptop, for a workload that's spiky.

Flex Support is our Tier 3 bench on retainer. Your engineer stays in charge. We take the migration, the firewall cutover, the tenant cleanup — whatever's crushing them — and hand it back documented and done.

Scale the flex hours up for the big quarter. Coast on the base retainer when it's quiet.

We're the co-pilot. Your person keeps the controls.

  1. 01

    Point us at the backlog.

A 30-minute scoping call with your engineer. Not a salesperson.

  2. 02

    We ship the project work.

Tier 3 engineers, direct Slack access, zero ticket queue.

  3. 03

    Scale back down.

When the backlog's gone, the flex hours go with it. The retainer keeps your bench warm for whatever breaks next.

Jordan — Ops Lead9:47 AM

New warehouse goes live Monday and the site-to-site VPN will not come up. I've been fighting the Fortigate for two days.

On it. Pulling the tunnel logs now.

MarcusDeft Minds · Tier 310:12 AM

Found it — both sites are running 192.168.1.0/24, so the tunnel negotiates fine and then traffic dies. Set up NAT over the tunnel so nothing has to be re-IP'd before Monday. Passing traffic now. Write-up incoming.

Two days of my life, solved in 25 minutes. Our old provider would still be generating the ticket number.

What a Tier 3 bench actually does.

The Biopharm Abandonment

48 hours to full coverage · 60 days stable

A biopharm firm lost their solo systems engineer to a standard two-week notice, leaving a totally blank map of their infrastructure. They spent two months hunting for a qualified permanent hire while their compliance baselines drifted.

We stepped in within 48 hours as their interim Tier 3 systems engineering bench. No discovery decks, no billing overages while a rookie learned on their dime. We ran an exhaustive infrastructure discovery audit, mapped their running network topologies, verified backup retention fidelity, and performed emergency credential and API key rotations.

We kept their validated GxP environment fully compliant and stable for 60 days until their permanent hire was vetted and onboarded, then handed the controls right back to them.

Out-of-the-Box M365 is a Security Liability

Purview DLP · Entra Conditional Access · DMARC enforcement

An enterprise client was running a default Microsoft 365 setup, leaving them completely exposed to business email compromise (BEC). Most traditional MSPs leave default settings because fixing it takes actual engineering, not a script.

We deployed a Tier 3 bench to build a strict, iron-clad Zero-Trust framework. Our team architected and deployed Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules to stop unauthorized exfiltration of corporate intellectual property. We instituted contextual Conditional Access policies within Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), mandated global phishing-resistant Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and locked down external collaboration parameters.

Finally, we rebuilt their entire mail security posture from scratch, aligning SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement policies to stop domain spoofing dead in its tracks.

Zero-Downtime Google to Microsoft 365 Migration

Terabytes moved · zero data loss · zero mail downtime

A fast-growing corporate client needed to migrate their entire workforce, file systems, and collaboration framework from Google Workspace over to a consolidated Microsoft 365 tenant. Most providers turn migrations into weeks of data purgatory — missing files, broken permissions, and employees wasting Monday morning fighting the system.

We built a dedicated, API-driven data migration pipeline to shift terabytes of corporate data from Google Drive to SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. We mapped their entire Google Identity provider footprint directly into Microsoft Entra ID, preserving complex shared-folder security permissions exactly as they were.

By executing a staged delta synchronization and a calculated weekend MX record cutover, their entire team logged into M365 on Monday morning with zero data loss and absolutely no mail routing downtime.

Fair warning

We're not for everyone. That's the point.

Every Deft Minds engineer is Tier 3. That means our bench is small and it doesn't scale like a call center — because it isn't one. We cap the client roster so quality never dilutes.

When slots are full, they're full. The waitlist is real.

No sales call, no discovery deck. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you straight and point you somewhere better.
